Default Definition of "Good stuff."

Quote:
Hell no as I want challenge I just don't want some noob being able to get to the good stuff by gimmick builds that's all. Learn how to play as I did. Become skilled as I did. Put all the time and effort into the game as I have (over 5000 hours thank you very much) and then you can deserve some of the good stuff in the game. )
Found this while browsing the forums today. Quick and easy question. What is "Good stuff?"

(I was under the impression that most of the so-called good stuff was used solely for bragging rights/cosmetic purposes.)

Sounds like "good stuff" in this case is a substitute for a real life. That, or an extremely large epeeeeeeen... which is sorta the same thing I guess.

Seems like he's talking about high end items (the kind of thing you'd see for sale in the high end sale forum on these boards). The person you quoted is complaining about speed clears like everyone else because they give you a higher chance of obtaining one of these items than you would have through regular gameplay, although the propagation of these teams lowers the prices of high end items so they're more obtainable to the general public.

Hope that answers your question and more.

Good stuff = bling. (Volaic spears, Obsidian Edges, frog scepters, celestial compasses, etc.)

It's shame that 99% of what you listed is god awful ugly, and almost always dyed black.

Bling =/= good taste.

It's only the item's skin. "good stuff" = rare skin. The stats are like every other ordinary item. Damagewise it is no difference in playing with an Crystalline Sword than with a Gladius.

Things that are difficult to find, or achieve. Aesthetically pleasing things that jealous people will call ugly out of hate, or be compelled to make an asstarded comment regarding 'e-peen' about. If you experience things like that, it's clear you've impressed someone and have "good stuff".

Is there anything in this game that is really difficult to find or achieve anymore? The one exception I can think of would be some of the ultra rare minipets. Other than that it really boils down to luck and numbers. It is hard for me to believe that someone with a voltaic spear and was either willing to buy it with easily farmable money or to easily do it just by doing VSF runs. Neither is hard it just takes time and some luck on your drops.

This is a very old complaint. "Good Stuff" is usually something you have that you don't want everyone else to have, so that you can feel special. People who feel like this have too much of their self-esteem involved in a game.

I agree with that, but....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: Voltaic spears = ugly, Obsidian Edge = cool looking, Tormented shield = nice, tormented bows=ugly. Male Warrior FoW armor = ugly, Female Mesmer FoW armor = damn sexy! (I could go on).

Jealousy does rear its ugly head, and anyone who needs to express their disdain for what other people have has issues, and anyone who makes a point of showing off their "leet bling" should really consider going out and achieving something more worthwhile IRL.

lol, like already stated. Rare shit that gets farmed to 1/10 its value from just 6 months before and is promptly dyed black, usually capped off with a highly maxed money title displayed underneath the visual abomination.

Complaint? All I see is a simple question asking others opinions on what THEY think is good stuff.

I think something good is a personal thing. If it pleases you with its looks, then its good in your mind.
The only way you can contrast "Good" in overall items are their stats and damage. Skin only boils down to personal taste.

Yeah, this answered the question. I didn't mean to start a firefight. I just got curious as to what's considered to be "good."

Not going to lie, though. I kept my old Trainee Assassin clothing - if only because I know I'm never going to see those anywhere else in the game. :P
